Welcome to The VERB!
The last
batch of chocolate-covered
peanut butter cookies are
cooling on racks before
they hop into paper-lined tins. Gifts are either wrapped and
waiting under the tree or
hurling through space as fast as the mail
carriers can hurl them. But before I launch
into my last two editing
projects of 2006, and way
before I even begin to
think about the humongous Christmas meal
I'll be preparing for nine, I want to take a moment to
thank you for reading The VERB.
The care we
pour into this free
ezine each month comes back
to us tenfold. I can't tell you
how touched we are that
you continue to take time in your busy day,
time that could be spent writing or
reading some other newsletter,
to peruse our humble little VERB.
You also contribute
to its content by sharing luscious
excerpts from your work. You send
sweet comments and special requests. And sometimes
you even write to
let us know an item
has given you another reason to take
pride in your profession. That's a gift you keep giving
to us all year long, and we are
grateful.
So whatever you
celebrate this time of year, we
hope it is blessed
with unforgettable moments.
We also wish you inspiration.
May the new year
see your publishing credits
increase to a point that you
actually grow sick of seeing
your name in print.
