Guidelines

We accept poetry, short stories or essays up to 500 words. We pay $10.

No reprints.

At the top of your submission, please provide:
   ~ your name
   ~ your mailing address
   ~ your email address
   ~ project  
   ~ word count 

Capitalize title. All submissions must have a title.

Please confirm we've received your entire submission by including the words, The End.

Submissions must be sent electronically to manuscripts@readingwriters.com You may paste your text within the body of an email or send it as an attachment in a PDF or a Microsoft Word.doc. We do not accept any other formats.

Subject: CHALKBOARD submission

Response time: approximately two weeks.

If published, you grant ReadingWriters, publisher of The VERB writing ezine, First Electronic Rights. Simply put, this means you allow us to print your sample first on the Internet. It will remain in The VERB archives until you ask us to remove it. You retain all other rights.
